Seven new releases are available for the Xbox 360 this week. The most popular of the bunch appears to be Project Gotham Racing 4, a great driving game from Activision's latest acquisition, Bizarre Creations. This week is also basketball week, with both NBA 2K8 and NBA Live 08 coming to the 360. Early word seems to say that 2K8 is the better game this year. Beyond those big three, there's also Spider-Man: Friend or Foe, Crash of the Titans, FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage (which is finally out in the US after being released in Europe quite some time ago), and Tetris Splash, which is this week's Xbox Live Arcade release. That means there are now two Tetris games on the 360--three if you count the Japan-only Tetris: The Grand Master Ace. But I don't count that one. So let's call it two and move on. Next week, Valve will release The Orange Box, which contains five games: Portal, Portal, Portal, Portal, and Portal. At least, that's how I see it. But I'm a little weird. According to the box, it's Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: Episode 1, Half-Life 2: Episode 2, Team Fortress 2, and Portal. That's a lot of game, and it's still coming at you for regular price. Of course, if you have a recent PC, you could always go that route, where the whole package is currently up for pre-order for $45. Either way, it seems like an almost impossible deal, though after rewatching all the Portal video, I'd probably pay $60 just to play that.
